Our Client helps gifted, underrepresented, underserved, and underemployed artists of African descent apply their artistic talents to enhance their financial security and provide better lives for themselves, their communities, and their families. They do this by bringing needed attention to their creative talents so customers and the public may support diverse artworks by Black artists.
The Program Manager supports the Senior Operations Manager in managing the organization’s arts based programming. The successful applicant will have a track record of managing multiple stakeholders across an organisation to drive efficiencies, program delivery excellence, and improvements. This is a key-role and will require a detail-oriented and tactical individual capable of engaging stakeholders, recruiting Black artists and speakers, as well as supporting arts based entrepreneurial program planning, development, and communication activities, as needed.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Responsible for implementing the Entrepreneur program strategy, following a budget(s), managing work plans, timelines, and key messages to ensure alignment between strategic plan, program and marketing objectives
Deliver training program online in zoom environment
Leading program evaluation by defining and developing information needed to report on program KPIs and other metrics
Review and revise the art program curriculum to improve pedagogy and stay up to date with relevant industry trends
Revise and develop new Entrepreneur program materials as needed
Recruit, contract, and coordinate facilitators and mentors, providing training deliverables and other information as needed
Be the primary contact for program participants
Administer the cloud-based project management system for program participant file sharing
Work with the marketing team to develop promotional campaigns
Participate in outreach, trade show booths, and speaking engagements at targeted events
Identify and actively seek out opportunities to provide additional, ongoing value to program participants (past and present) such as funding opportunities and other resources
Develop and implement new capacity-building programs and services for the local arts community
Contribute to program funding applications and partnership development as needed
Experience, Background, and Requirements:
Completed a post-secondary degree in arts administration, cultural studies, business, entrepreneurship, education, or related experience
Strong Presentation and program facilitation skills
Survey and data assessment as well as data collection and analysis skills
Daytime and 5 to 10 hrs/wk of evening availability required
Familiarity with Southern ontario arts industry
Extensive experience with developing KPIs and tracking them
Exceptional writing and verbal communication skills
Well spoken and articulate
Have a minimum of 5 years of program management experience, preferably in the non-profit arts and culture sector
Have a successful track record developing, coordinating, and implementing arts and entrepreneurial programs and the innovative attitude to apply your talent
Demonstrated program development and coordination experience
Be available to travel to different parts of Toronto during daytime and evenings
Have ownership of a vehicle and valid G license

Solution-oriented with a diplomatic approach to problem-solving
Strong communication and presentation skills
Experience working with initiatives that involve both the public and private sector
Familiarity working with partners, funders, sponsors and other stakeholders is an asset
